A few words about our new USAG Prep Op Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum Team….

Our Prep Op Teams support the needs of gymnasts who want to compete in the USA Gymnastics program but don’t fit into the USAG Junior Olympic (JO) level program due to age, skill level, or time commitment. The Prep Op Team training hours, at 7 to 9 hours per week, allows participation in other sports and other school activities. It also allows a gymnast to continue progressing after our Recreational Team into a larger competition venue. The Prep Op Team will compete in local Prep Op meets, and will be very much like our USAG Junior Olympic (levels 3-10) in that it will be professionally coached and will require dedication and performance on the part of the gymnast and her family.

We expect that there will be gymnasts who move from our Prep Op Team to our JO Level Team and back, as their skills and interests change. USAG Prep Op is relatively new in Georgia. It is not AAU Prep Op! For comparison, USAG Prep Op Bronze is for gymnasts who are training at the JO 1/2/3 level – most gymnasts moving from our Advanced Rec Classes or Rec Team will fit into the Prep Op Bronze team. Prep Op Silver is similar to JO 4, and JO 5 who did not qualify to state. Prep Op Gold is similar to JO 5, and JO6 who did not qualify to state. Prep Op Platinum is similar to JO level 6, and JO level 7 who did not qualify to state. The Prep Op Silver/Gold/Platinum team best suits gymnasts who have previously competed at USAG JO levels 4,5,6, or 7.

As we launch our Prep Op program, we will be relying on the expertise of Coaches Courtney, Dudley and Casey.
